What happens when you’ve got three minutes to explain what you’re building and why it matters?

Condensing your vision, mission, and the impact you’re aiming for into a short video pitch isn’t easy. It forces focus. You have to decide what really matters: what problem you’re solving, who it’s for, and why it deserves attention. But for founders driving social change, the pitch is less about the "presentation" and more about the clarity it demands.

What Our Founders Experienced

The heart of this competition isn't just the final video; it’s the shift that happens during the preparation. The process forces you to think clearly about what your business does, why it matters, and who it serves.

Our Cohort 2 alumni found that this process did more than just prepare them for a competition. It helped shape how they think about their next stage of growth. As you will see in the video below, this clarity often comes from the workshops and peer feedback built into the program.

  • Refining the Narrative: For Lu, the sessions were a catalyst for organisation. She noted that the program "forced us to put everything down on paper," which helped her team streamline their narrative and sharpen their vision. In a three-minute format, you have to be precise. That clarity strengthened their pitch and their wider strategy.

  • Navigating change: For Yasmine, the timing of the program was critical as her business was pivoting. Using the Business Model Canvas during the sessions, she was able to "piece together the different parts" of that transition. The breakout rooms helped her test messaging and see what resonated with an audience and what didn’t.

From Grant to Action

While the process builds clarity, the funding provides the momentum. Winners of the pitch competition receive a £5,000 grant, to invest in practical next steps. Rather than abstract "transformation", our previous winners used the funding to achieve clear milestones:

  • Product Development: Piloting new products and building early-stage technology.

  • Strategic Marketing: Investing in marketing and storytelling to reach wider audiences.

  • Operations: Strengthening systems to support growth.

The Path to the Pitch

The pitch competition sits at the end of the CatalyseHer program. It is a moment to pull together everything you’ve learned and show where you’re heading.

You don’t need a polished pitch to join us. That is exactly what the program is for.

Ready to start? Applications for the next cohort are open now. Join us to give your vision the platform it deserves.
